- Which are the documents required to enter Venezuela?

For European citizens the only document required is a valid passport having an expiry date not inferior than six months. During the flight a form to fill out and to return before landing will be handed out to you.

- Is it obligatory to get vaccination before departure?

For Los Roques there is no obligatory vaccination: but if you have in mind to visit the inland, we suggest you to ask the center for traveler’s medicine at your local health service.

- Which is the time difference?

The time difference in Venezuela is 5h 30 min backwards compared to the italian time. During the daylight saving time the difference increases up to 6h 30 min.

- Which is the official currency in Venezuela?

The official currency in Venezuela is the Bolivar Fuerte BSF: the currency mostly used and accepted is the USD.

- How to reach Los Roques?

Los Roques is about 40 min flight away from the airport Simon Bolivar of Maiquetia (Caracas), or 8 hours navigation with Mary Elena, an elegant motor yacht equipped with 4 double cabins and all mod cons.

- Can you book national flights

Yes, sure: we have a central office in Caracas that looks after booking national flights as well as international flights exclusively.

- The electricity current used is 220 V?

The electricity current used in Venezuela and on Los Roques is 110 V and the plugs are american type (with flat lamella). We suggest you to bring a convertor with you.

- Which is the best season to visit Los Roques?

On Los Roques no well defined meteorological seasons exist. We suggest you to avoid the Carnival Time, August and New Year, because overcrowded.

- When is the rain season?

Although in Venezuela the rain season begins in April and ends in November, on Los Roques the weather is practically constant and sunny the whole year over.

- Is Los Roques a safe place?

Los Roques is the most safe tourist target of Venezuela. Crime is almost absent.

- Is there medical care on Los Roques?

There is a medical surgery and a little chemist’s shop, but we recommend you to bring with you all the medicines you may need.

- Is there a bank on Los Roques?

Yes, there is a little bank counter and a cash dispenser (BANESCO), but we suggest you always to bring cash with you.

- Do the rooms of the posada have private bathroom?

Yes, all the rooms have private bathroom.

- Does the posada provides beach towels?

Yes, free of charge.

- Does the posada have a laundry service?

The posada itself has no laundry service, but in Gran Roque you will find laundry services.

- Do the mobile phones work on Los Roques?

On Gran Roque all the mobile phones with international roaming service do work.

- Are internet connection and international calls possible on Los Roques?

Yes, right next to the posada there is an internet point and the possibility to make international calls.

- Is it possible to travel with your own kite board?

The only company that allows the transport of boards is LTA / Aereotuy. Therefore we suggest you to advise while flight booking.

- Which is the dressing suggested?

Bring only light cloths, as t-shirts, sarongs and flip flop or slippers with you. You may need a pair of gym shoes if you want to go to see the sun downing from the hill with the old light house or to jog. Remember, there are no streets, but only sand on the islands.

- Some other advices?

Don’t forget to bring with you high sun protections creams and repellent for insects. Anyway, you can find them on Gran Roque.
